20/20 Vision for Success Coaching
Written by: Christine Beckwith
I sat outside a store on a Thursday waiting for a phone call triggered by an impromptu text from this Miami, FL marketing professional named Sanin. She texted to ask if she could pick my brain, saying she had recently returned from a church mission and was looking to get training in how to better grab the attention of realtors. I had agreed to squeeze her in on a packed day, between errands and coaching calls.
An hour later, I was amazed to reflect on an astounding conversation. This woman moved me. At the core of our conversation, her purpose rang through clearly—a passioned desire to change lives and pay forward education. She was clearly a person who is rich in character and a person on a mission.
This was Ana Maria Sanin circa 2016. She was speaking my language.
Jumping to current days, shortly after we announced opening 20/20 Vision for Success Coaching, Ana called and asked to hire me as her coach. Ana Maria believes in personal development, as do I and many others. She understands the necessity of growth and recognizes that reaching for unscaled limits is how we achieve all we desire to find.
When Ana started coaching, she completed the 24 core curriculum courses within the training center faster than any other member of our organization has done, before or since. Her appetite to learn is insatiable. She has the drive and the will to do and excel. Today Ana is one of the elite; a card-carrying 20/20 Vision Master. Having mastered the curriculum, she has achieved graduate-level status as a coaching student and has dived into the world of Marketing, Media, Image, Influence, and Prestige. She is a Master and a masterpiece.
Ana Maria possesses a rare combination, one that exemplifies the perfect professional who will strive and grow. Those traits include:
- A willingness to share vulnerably, even into the dark spots
- Showing up prepared to learn, to adapt, to willfully take what advice is given, to apply and then return and ask for the next step
- Being someone who is excited when she sees personal progress
- Waking every day with drive and follow-through
- Being willing to continue the journey; someone who is climbing, honest, imperfect, and real.
What sets Ana apart—as was evident even during that first phone call—is her ability to ask the right questions and to make great use of time. She excels in sharing precisely and is able both to explain her goals and to execute on the lesson learned in practical use with her work.
Growing into a Bold Confidence
When you dive into the story and life of Ana Maria Sanin it takes you all the way back to Columbia where she was born and later to Kendall, Florida when she was only eight years old. Ana’s life story could easily have had a sad ending, early. She has lived a life riddled with hurdles and obstacles. She has been subjected to and survived grievances both self-afflicted and put upon her. In some cases, she veered from a true path by her own decisions such as happened often during her years as a young teenage mom.
Her life for that decade was self-admittedly peppered with the kinds of horror stories we try to protect our children from. Ana found herself adrift on a dark river, far from the light within which she now lives. Her journey back was one of growth and self-correction, not always able to stay on the straight and narrow, yet inexorably pressing on.
I would say I am still working at it and through it. Becoming pregnant at a young age was my biggest challenge, other than dealing with myself. That was a hard time in my life. Raising up my children and myself at the same time was all-consuming. Overcoming that was difficult to climb from at such a young age. It is through knowing who I am and who I belong to that I gained enough confidence to be bold. Strength has come through my faith and a relationship with God that has never failed me, even when I have failed myself. It is my relationship with God that fills me with bold confidence. I know where I’m going and who’s leading me. If I take risks, even if they fail, I know my creator is in control. I surrender my life-end result to God.
Ana Maria is not ashamed of her life. Hers was a childhood peppered with insecurity that included a return to Cuba and separation from her parents. She knew a life devoid of protection and security until well into adulthood. Ana needs no prompting to tell you she found God and that He was her salvation.
I commend Ana for sharing her story with us. So many of us hide our truths and stories out of fear of judgment. It was not until recent years, when pushed by an editor, that I revealed my own dark spots in my life that are now public in my books.
Personal Growth is a Choice
To look at Ana Maria Sanin today one sees a confident, beautiful, well-established, and focused professional. She has matured into an incredible woman, wife, and mother. She is someone who our industry looks up to, and who is seen and recognized for her contributions. Ana dedicates her time to the church, to her business, her company with PRMG, to our company as a Women With Vision Director, and as an advocate of self-development.
Ana’s commitment to her personal self-investment is not minor. She sees it as the vehicle that allows her to continue traveling a path taking her far away from the shadows of a past life wrought with heartache and depletion of self-worth. She started in the mortgage business in 2016 as a Business Development Manager and Brand Ambassador. Along the way, Ana was not alone and credits several with helping hands, “I definitely have had several mentors starting with Jesus (God), Gerry my faith-based mentor, and my very good friend Kevin Jimeno. They have helped me cement my character in the life I now live. This is where I look in both a time of need and in sharing celebrations of milestones achieved.”
Ana Maria was chosen to be featured on the cover of our WWV magazine because she embodies branding and self-development and is an outstanding example of how 20/20 VSC students expand their mission and grow through their coaching experience.
According to Ana, she joined 20/20 VSC to “polish my skills as a businesswoman and to strengthen my own confidence within the work I was doing. I have found that mission and more. My Life goals are to be living in my calling and life’s purpose, to be in an environment that accepts me as is, and where I can give and share my God-given gifts. It is through this higher goal that all my earthly goals will come about.”
As I write this cover story, Ana Maria Sanin shares that she feels as if she is on top of the world. She is married to an Irish man who does not drink named Jamie Pallas. Her oldest son (21-year-old Nicholas) is a Marine. Her youngest (Bella, 15) loves to go on adventures. With her family, Ana loves to travel and serve the Lord. She is trusted with a national job that spans an entire organization with a brand that is known worldwide. That same organization has a women’s leadership division and has hired me repeatedly to motivate their women professionals.
Recently Ana launched her own podcast, Confident Closer. She manages a distinguished brand, the woman in the red dress. She won the 2019 Women With Vision award and we are confident she will be in the running for the 2020 WWV Award. The tagline for Ana’s life could be the same as the WWV’s: To Truly See, You Must First Have a Vision.
She is on a mission.
She is the mission. We all have a journey to trod, dark spots to struggle through, triumphs to celebrate, and stories to tell. Ana Maria’s story inspires everyone who reads it. She is a long way from where she started. I can’t wait to see what’s next. I have my money on her to go far.
My entire journey has taught me to be compassionate and step into someone else’s shoes and understand how they feel. Today I have a new brand that fits who I am. It fits my story of courage and confidence. Today I launched My podcast channel. I’m positioning myself as a speaker through my story and the stories of other women like you and me.

Ana’s story is far from being done. If you wonder why she merits a cover story in the WWV Mag, the frank answer is, she’s earned it. From my view, through eyes focused on the national landscape of professionals in our industry, she remains a consistent driver and stands out. Having come to know her, it is apparent her exceptional poise is driven by the circumstances in her life to date and an incomparable desire to excel. I know now that she has felt great hurt. I know now that she shows loyalty—fiercely—to those who show her the same. I know that she has never spoken ill words to me about anyone or any organization, even in private. I know now that she has always looked for the silver lining, that even when she is getting a bad deal or is unsure of her next step, she manages to find the shining path. When I look at her today, I see a role model for our nieces, our daughters, for every 13-year-old girl who is sheltered in kindness and opportunity.
But in Ana, I also see a different girl, the one who was not sheltered in kindness, the one who made her own opportunity, the one who has found her peace along a lonely road. I believe she is one who has seen a darkness many of us do not comprehend, even to the point of wanting her time in this life to end. Let that sink in for a moment and hear her own words,
You see, I desired attention. I desired success. I desired belonging. I desired all these so bad that I was bitter towards me. I hated that my life did not represent what my heart desired. I felt destined to live a purposeless life. I was dealing with a lack of self-love, and self-worth. I had no identity or purpose and no confidence. I did not know forgiveness, peace, trust, faith, or joy. I was a total victim of life.
The Ana of those days would not be featured in a national magazine’s cover.
Ana no longer paints herself the victim.
When I started Women With Vision I didn’t want it to be a debutant society of mean girls with expectations of wearing $5,000.00 suits. While many of us can afford that lifestyle, I want WWV to be the place where we all come, in slippers or flip flops, or wearing high heels and nice suits. I want an environment of inclusion, to build a community in its truest sense of the word.
Ana is perfect for our WWV world. She has more stamina than most people I know. She is a sharpshooter. She is fearless and confident today. She is wise now to the years when she was not confident. She can see clearly in her rear-view mirror and is not ashamed of her life. Ana Maria knows and values the earned secret invisible badges she has earned on her sash of life. She has most definitely earned accolades and will only continue to do so.

Yes, you can have a thriving business and the personal life you always wanted.
Editorial Note
It gives us great pleasure to introduce this new column penned by the inexorable Laura Brandao, President of AFR Wholesale and one of the founders of the Women’s Mortgage Network (WMN). We hope you enjoy this inaugural column featuring Jaymini’s amazing story and will tune in for the next story Laura has to share.
As we kick off the new Women’s Mortgage Network spotlight series, I had the pleasure of interviewing Jaymini Dave, the President and Broker/Owner of Avant Financial Group. I asked Jaymini how she got her start in the mortgage business. Like many of us, it was by pure happenstance. In 2009 Jaymini graduated college with a finance degree. She was pleased to have a job lined up with Merrill Lynch but due to the uncertainty of their own future, Merrill Lynch decided not to add any new team members.
This change of plans was the first life decision that would put her on a path that created new circumstances. If we remember 2009, many graduates faced student loans and few chances of employment. Jaymini moved back home to Chicago and enrolled in business school since this would allow her to defer student loans while attaining an MBA. In addition to attending business school, Jaymini worked part-time at a luxury apartment leasing office. This position required pre-qualifications of lessees which included credit and income analysis. Many of her contacts made during this job stayed in touch, and Jaymini began to network with them as she searched for guidance to decide what she would do upon business school graduation.
Taking the Leap to Ownership
The mortgage business was far from her mind. She was wide open to a fresh perspective and turned to communication and networking for that viewpoint. One of her network connections was a loan officer at Wintrust Mortgage who was thinking of opening up his own broker shop. With her short introduction to leasing, Jaymini had a needed background, leading her to her second life decision as she entered the mortgage industry.
The mortgage business can be demanding. Jaymini quickly excelled at generating business via internet leads. The broker saw Jaymini’s potential and gave her many extra responsibilities. Even though it was a little scary, Jaymini wanted to know all of the processes of the brokerage. Within three years she realized her potential and was ready to set up a broker shop of her own.
Armed with knowledge, passion, and confidence, Jaymini made her third life decision in 2015 as she escaped the Chicago weather and headed west to California with the desire to go big or go home. With 2015 being a year of major compliance changes like TRID and ATR/QM, most LO’s were transitioning to the retail space but not Jaymini, she was focused on building her own local broker shop in order to serve her new community. Within a couple of months, Jaymini hired Loan Officers and Processors to work with her in the office space she rented in Manhattan Beach, CA.
Success is Not Always Success
California was proving to be the right environment. She was growing quickly and her experience in converting internet leads and efficiently processing a family was paying off. Inexorably, it led her to life decision number three.
When she opened her company, Avant Financial Group, she had a huge vision of what she thought was her definition of success. She came to understand that, although the big corporate building and hundreds of team members may define success for some, it wasn’t for her. Jaymini was buried under all the corporate minutia. She struggled with the reality that took her away from her true love of helping families. Sometimes when ambition is driving you forward the success that is found is the wrong kind of success.
Life Intervenes
Jaymini became painfully aware of this realization when her father passed away suddenly in 2018. The loss of her father catapulted her to life decision number four. She realized that she was on the same path as her father, having become a workaholic with each day consisting of 15–18 hours. Her goals were to save money for a rainy day and wait for retirement to do all the things that one never has time to do outside of work. Losing her father brought a hard hit of reality and a realization that the dreams she had been striving for may not be the ones to fulfill her life. She found herself questioning some basic premises, “Do I want to continue on the path of growing a company that looks like success to others? Will this give me the final outcome I truly want?”
When Success is in Balance with Life
Jaymini sprang to action; typical in a leader with her strengths. She set about adjusting her needs in order to answer questions about what she truly wanted to build, calling for yet another decision to redesign her life.
The reasons why she started her own brokerage: flexibility, connection to the local community, profit, and personal satisfaction, were not included in her newly designed path. To accomplish her new goals, she gave up her office space, downsized her team to the strongest core, and fulfilled one of her father’s dying wishes. His own plan for retirement was to travel with his wife. Now Jaymini pledged to show her mom the world to honor her father.
Jaymini and her restructured team have gone 100% remote. She continues to live life to the fullest by taking care of her borrowers and referral partners while traveling with her Mom and friends. Jaymini is determined to make every day a new adventure.
Monumental changes in our business require both personal effort and courage. The moments now spent with family and friends are priceless. The business aspect of Jaymini’s life is built around her needs. A promise to her father has been fulfilled as she travels monthly being sure to take her mom with her twice a year on special trips. These trips take her to places of great beauty, reinforcing the clarity of her decision and helping her remain focused on her next project.
Perhaps we can all take a page out of Jaymini’s story to embrace fresh goals and be open to changing direction when an intersection opens up the possibilities. The satisfaction gained lasts longer and proves more life-changing as the awareness of our ability to adapt grows. Finding that special combination of business and personal life is the right path to success.
We all come to a place in our lives when we pause and ask, “Is this truly the life which I set out to live?” We all have to choose our own niche, striving for greater personal time while maintaining real connections with family and friends.
I am overjoyed that Jaymini realized that when you put together a plan, a strong team, and a vision for success, you can design a life that is both professionally rewarding and successful and personally fulfilling.

with Jane Mason—Women With Vision 2019 Winner & CEO of Clarifire, Inc.
Written by: Christine Beckwith
I recently read a Forbes article written by Jane Mason, Founder and creator of the CLARIFIRE® automated workflow application. Jane’s article caught my eye both because of who wrote it and because its writing offers insightful handling of an important topic epitomizing life-changing intersections for entrepreneurs.
My reading of this article was not the first time our paths have crossed. Six degrees of separation, the idea that all people are six, or fewer, social connections away from each other, is a part of our lives more than ever before. As a woman executive, I love to follow the careers of other executives I respect and look up to, and Jane is high on my shortlist.
Last year, when Women With Vision launched their first-annual curated and culled award within the banking industry, the exceptionally elevated caliber of women nominated was notable. Truly incredible. The list of WWV Award winners became an industry Who’s Who, recognizing legacy leaders and up and comers alike. Among the 54 elite women winners was CEO of Clarifire Inc., Jane Mason. I recall thinking how odd it was that, while I have known of Jane over the decades we have each served in our related field, we had not truly connected one-on-one. And there she was, front and center being touted as one of the best in our industry. I decided then and there that I would find the opportunity to get to know her better.
Jane Mason grew up in Lincolnshire, Illinois, outside of Chicago. Although her family lived in many places, Lincolnshire is the place she considers her hometown. Jane knew, even as a young girl, that she would live a life of accomplishment and freely admits that her aspirations “changed as I learned more about myself and my life,” coming to realize that she “wanted to experience that full circle of happiness that is something I hold very dearly.”
Like Jane, I always strive for that next level in business and life. In my mind, Jane has gone before me. I chose Jane Mason to feature in WWV Mag because her name is repeatedly spoken of as a respected innovator among the movers and shakers of our industry. Jane has been her own CEO for far longer than me. Being an executive leader for another company is an entirely different animal than being an executive leader for one’s own company. Both are incredibly difficult and satisfying jobs. It takes a unique combination of skills and being a person who can truly stick one’s neck way out to succeed under the weight of responsibility, ownership, and risk that encompass the mindset of CEOs running their own businesses. Jane has been sticking her neck out for a long time and winning her bet on herself in the process.
Jane and I conversed as we prepared for this publication. We talked like two old friends, comparing experiences, and silently acknowledging our parallel paths towards dreams achieved and now decades behind us. We traveled roads that did not cross but certainly ran alongside one another, proving in our own way the 6-degree separation theory. We found that we share a mutual admiration for overcoming fears and doubts to rise above.
Jane is a doer. She had a Vision for Success long ago and she took action on the many steps to bring that vision to life. Her vision remains strong as she continues to drive for more growth.
As I have learned more about Jane Mason, I see qualities and traits shared among the strongest female leaders in our industry. These are people who have the tenacity and grit to withstand making the hard decisions and surviving tough times. Jane has that strength and a quality I consider equally necessary. Throughout our interview (excerpted in the sidebar) Jane accentuated kindness as one of the greatest traits of leadership. It is, she is quick to say, a trait she points to when speaking to young professionals.
Jane believes in paying success forward. She shared with me how appreciative she is for two of our country’s largest banks, and others, that put their “belief in a woman-owned business” into action. It is a delight and gratifying when our gender is looked at for its value and worth, when our experience is brought to the table for companies to acknowledge and embrace.
Jane is committed to and desires self-improvement. She pushes as hard personally as she does in business. In a poignant share, she admits to being lonely on this road at times. She recognizes the clear, inner strength that’s needed to continually push to do more and be better while also being kind and listening to others. These are the daily challenges leaders must face and overcome.
As for what’s up this summer with Jane, she and her husband Mark have a new puppy, Lottie, named after her grandmother. As anyone who has ever had a puppy knows, this is keeping her busy and is giving her family much joy. She loves tennis, boating, and is learning meditative aspects of becoming a good golfer.
I respect Jane. She is exactly the kind of woman who represents the annual WWV Award. She truly is amazing. Jane’s story is an inspiration to all of us. On behalf of 20/20 Vision for Success Coaching, I want to congratulate Jane for serving as a WWV 2019 winner and I hope to see her back on the 2020 Winners list.
And what about that article I mentioned that springboarded Jane to being featured in this issue of WWV Mag? Here is a link to the Forbes article, as well as her social media connection info if you’d like to follow Jane Mason.

Home
Seafoam Blue has made a “splash” this year, pun intended. As seen in the new headquarters of 20/20 VSC home office combined with an ocean theme and you have a classy, rich, and warm accent to any industrial setting. Images of the beach are known to relax us and remind us of our happy places; why not bring that home!
Fashion
Trending this Summer in fashion are Yellow and Denim!
Yellow tops and accents have made a big splash in 2020 with summer clothing and are a refreshingly bright and feminine accent color. Our favorite as you know from our own logo!
All things denim are also all the rave, whether the weathered denim skirt as featured in this pic or a denim jacket, nothing says fun and flirty more than denim.

Few will deny that this summer of 2020 heralds a time of change for all. Our familiar and traditional activities to celebrate the season, whether in small groups or large, are being scrutinized and modified. Let’s be sure to embrace the V-Factor as we make plans! Put Vitality front and center by making healthy choices, including movement, and encouraging motivation during the crisis! Incorporate these 20 tips to get sizzlin’ this summer.
- Be firm with yourself around mindset. The body will achieve what the mind believes. We must be willing to push through. When it burns, it doesn’t mean you are weak. It means change is happening; good change.
- Be proud of yourself and always be grateful for the ability to move, no matter what your current level of activity is. One can always increase activity, whether small or large steps; what’s important is to take the steps.
- Strive to achieve the best version of you. Comparing yourself will hold you back. We are all not built like Kelly Ripa (or whoever you may want to look like). Comparing yourself is more likely to cause discouragement instead of motivation, so use that role model to visualize, not compare.
- Remember why you started. Visualize yourself at your goal. Picture in your mind how it will feel when you reach your goals. Imagine how it will be better. Clearly see what reaching your goal will mean to you.
- Make a commitment to yourself. Then make it real. Share that commitment with at least one other person. Hold yourself accountable to achieving your goal.
- Share accountability. An accountability partner is someone who will encourage you and help you accomplish your goal and you provide the same for your partner in return.
- Have a plan of action. Write down the most important actions you want to accomplish. List changes you want to make. List obstacles that you’ll face. Get that plan into a journal and keep it updated as a journey journal.
- Make a realistic and attainable goal. Take achieving that goal one step at a time. Add more steps and goals as you achieve those already on the list. Avoid overwhelm. This is a lifestyle choice, it’s not a sprint. It’s a marathon across the summer and into the next season as you choose.
- Take several movement breaks throughout the day. Ten minutes at a time, if those are the longest blocks of time you can fit into your day. Block the time on your calendar or grab an app that will notify you when it’s time to move! Walk around, lift weights, do jumping jacks… just move.
- Make the most of summer weather to get outdoors and get your daily dose of Vitamin D. Walk, bicycle, garden, or do your favorite activity. Studies show that sun exposure between 8 am and noon is associated with higher fat burning, if that’s one of your goals.
- Keep a food journal. Often during the summer, we eat more than we think, and even more often, we choose foods that are out of our usual habit.
- Take advantage of the fresh produce in season to eat real foods. Local farmer’s markets are fun to visit and a great way to add healthy nutrients to your menu choices.
- Eat small meals throughout the day. Graze every 3-4 hours. This boots metabolism and stabilizes blood sugars which balance hormones.
- Our bodies need carbs, protein, and fats. The restriction of one food group is not ideal.
- Drink more water and less soda and other sugary and artificially flavored drinks.
- Pack snacks in your purse. You are going to be out and more active. Your sugars will drop with activity. Having a healthier choice than a candy bar to sate hunger is good planning. Aim for three grams of protein and fiber in your snacks.
- Follow the 80/20 rule when choosing what to eat. 80% of the time, aim for consuming real foods. The other 20%, allow yourself foods you love that may not be as healthy. Remember though, eating should be a pleasurable experience, not a mathematical equation.
- Read the ingredients list! Processed foods are an unavoidable part of our diets and it is up to us to choose wisely to enhance our unique health needs.
- Consider the extended daylight of summer. It’s easy to put off eating until the sun goes down. Take care to allow your body to digest your food before laying down for the night.
- Make a DID IT! List. When you hit your water goal for the day, your movement goal for the day, no matter how small, if you took a step towards your goal jot it down. Give yourself credit and encouragement along the way and when you reach certain goals, reward yourself.

In live video, an intuitive interviewer can often elicit deeply thoughtful and thought-provoking responses from the person being interviewed. This happened recently when Michael David Chapman, the Business Minister, sat down face-to-virtual face with President and COO of 20/20 Vision for Success Coaching. The results were…surprising and bordering on controversial. Take a look at this clip where Beckwith exposes truths about both women and men that beget lessons both genders might benefit from learning.
